Brecon - Brilliant Sweet shop, and BIG Toasted Tea Cake

Having a short break in Wales, we went into Brecon, the centre of the Brecon Beacons National Park in south east Wales... Just wandering around the shops, to stretch our legs we came across a Brilliant Sweet Shop !... selling all kinds of colourful sweets and Welsh Tourist stuff.... A must for those with a sweet tooth, as the choice of sweets is truly amazing, there is also a special chocolate counter, with lots of goodies on display... The shop is called "Candy Land".. and is on Bulwark, the main street that runs through Brecon past the church.

After visiting Candy Land, we wandered further into the recesses behind the main road, and into a quiet square, dominated by a now refurbished disused chapel.. It is a Boots Chemist... just down to the side of Boots, is Giglios Coffee shop.... At first glance, you may be forgiven for thinking.... with a name like that it has to be expensive, however, it is not... Tea and various coffee drinks, are pretty much the same as "normal", any where else... However,.... be warned... if you ask for a Toasted Tea Cake.... you will be pleasantly surprised to see it come out to you, the size of a standard Tea PLATE.. ! ! ... Waitress service, but not "posh"... very clean and pleasant to sit a while, rest your feet, relax and enjoy .....
