Was I scared? ........ No, Not me ! ! !

For best effect..

Hi Andrea....

No, I wasn`t scared taking the pic of the jet taking off.... here is a couple of movies I took on the end of the runway at RAF Mildenhall.... USAF base in East Anglia.... I am standing on the runway approach line, just outside the perimiter fence  ( a public road runs across the end of the runway (almost))...

Oh and here is a clue about the pic on my stream.....

It is a real plane, but it is now a tribute to the men who served at the Royal Naval Air Station FORD,  Although this type of aircraft never actually flew from this station... It is situated at the entrance to the old air station. if you look at the map on this linky....

It is at the end of the right hand runway of the cross, there is a thin line (road) leading out to a green field...
You can read some history of the air station below the map....

Have a nice day ! ! ..

Pinhole Camera Effect

I have had my Panasonic LumixFZ28 for over 4 years now, and I am still learning how to use the features.... recently I found "pinhole camera effect"... it is in the Scenes menu on the last page.... set the picture size, and the next screen move the cursor to the left, and then to the bottom,... so it ends up in the bottom left corner....

here are some pics I took as my first efforts...

Normal Interior View of trip boat "Richmond" on the Chichester Ship Canal.
Pinhole Camera Effect
Beach Huts and Houses, at Titchfield Haven, Southern England
Sailing on the Solent, off the Isle of Wight..... Ryde Church Steeple is about 5 miles. the yacht is about 1 mile from camera
Same yacht, sailing in the sparkles !... Sun is "into" camera, but not behind the yacht... (no lens hood used).

Weston Supermare Air Show Day

These pics were taken without checking the camera settings, as the `planes just turned up, literally, out of the blue , we did not know they were holding an air show day, and we only went to Weston supermare because we could not find the place we were supposed to be going, and Weston  was the next big town along the road !...

Don`t forget, click on the pic to enlarge it..... then click on the right hand side of the actual pic to bring in the next one, like a slideshow... Enjoy !

War on the Line - Watercress Line - Alresford Station

This weekend, sees one of the major events in the Watercress Line Calendar.... A re-enactment of how it used to be during, or just after the war. With extra steam trains scheduled to run between Alresford and Alton, and a wide range of events taking place at Alresford, Ropley, and Four Marks stations, there is plenty to see and do. This year, there is a chance to see the famous spitfire doing some flying over Ropley station, and many re-enactment groups turn out in their uniforms and equipment to give the whole experience an authentic atmosphere. So here are some "atmospheric" pictures I took today, hopefully showing something of the flavour of the day.
